Dr. Maziar Badii

Dr. Maziar Badii is a member of the division of rheumatology, UBC, with cross appointment in the department of radiology.  Dr. Badii has clinical and research interest in degenerative and inflammatory conditions of the hip, knee, and spine.  He has received several competitive research grants and published several articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Dr. Badii is past president of the Northwest Rheumatism Society and past director of MSK Health at OHSAH. Dr. Badii has research interest in studying new procedures in rheumatology – such as GAE; and new technologies ­ – including near-infrared spectroscopy, ultrasound, wearables and smart apparel. Dr. Badii was the recipient of the 2023 Polaris Award for Innovation in Rheumatology.
