Dr. Carrie Kollias
Dr Carrie Kollias MD, FRCSC, FRACS
Dr. Carrie Kollias is a Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon and recent addition to BC Children’s Hospital in September 2024.
After graduating from the University of Calgary Orthopaedic Residency training program in 2010, she completed fellowships in Paediatric Orthopaedics and combined Adult/Paediatric Limb Deformity Reconstruction in Melbourne, Australia. Carrie then worked as an attending surgeon in southern Alberta from 2012-2018 and served paediatric orthopaedic, adult trauma and limb deformity reconstruction patients. She was then recruited back Royal Children’s Melbourne with a focus on child and adolescent foot and ankle reconstruction, as well as limb deformity, neuromuscular, and baby/child hip reconstruction. There, she also served as Deputy Director of Orthopedics since 2021.
Carrie’s has an interest in physician well-being and she has published national studies on Orthopaedic surgeon/trainee distress in both Canada and Australia. She is the author of award-winning children’s book, Maria’s Marvelous Bones (2018) and recently completed a Master of Business Administration through Imperial College London Business School in August 2024. Dr Kollias is the 2023 recipient of the Tass Paxinos Award for Excellence in Orthopaedic Teaching, as voted by the Orthopaedic Surgery trainees in the State of Victoria, Australia.
